Pulled over, a Florida man tried the classic move of switching seats so it wouldn't look like he'd been driving. Mid-shuffle the car slipped into gear and rolled into the deputy's cruiser, settling the question of who was in control.
He had no bar card, no firm, and no case — just the unshakable confidence of a man who decided to represent himself on the shoulder of the highway. The deputies, it turns out, were not persuaded by opposing counsel.
A man kept a cooler in his own driveway, and his HOA responded with fines, because nothing threatens property values quite like accessible cold beverages. The cooler stays put; the citations keep arriving.
Nothing says peace on earth quite like a homeowners association citation for displaying too much holiday cheer. The lights stayed up, the neighbors stayed festive, and the invoice stayed firmly in the mailbox.
He was arrested for a fresh burglary while on his way to court to answer for a previous one, which is at least thematically consistent. Time management is hard, but he did technically make both appointments.
Five hundred dollars a day, indefinitely, over a single door the homeowners association had not personally signed off on. It ultimately took a brand-new state law to switch the meter off.
Deputies pulled him out of a canal they described as alligator-infested, and he thanked them by fighting the people doing the rescuing. He wanted to stay; the alligators, the deputies, and basic survival instinct all disagreed.
He was arrested for trespassing while already dressed, head to toe, in a genuine jail outfit, which is either terrible luck or excellent planning. Dress for the job you want; he was, at minimum, fully prepared for booking.
Every road is technically one-way if you are committed enough to reverse down the entire length of it, and he was extremely committed. Police disagreed with the interpretation and arrested him heading, briefly, forward.
Using a debit card someone left in a propane machine outside a Walmart, a Palm Coast man ordered about $79 of door hinges and Axe body spray on Amazon. He denied everything to deputies — right up until he pulled up his own Amazon account to prove his innocence and displayed the fraudulent orders for them.
Nothing says land of the free like a $100 penalty for the flag out front. The HOA reviewed the Stars and Stripes and found them non-compliant.
The health-code violation was bad enough, but the real artistry was concealing the official alert behind a single, strategically placed potted plant. Inspectors found both the violation and the houseplant defense thoroughly unconvincing.
